Background Information

The Videographer Awards is a 12-year-old independent, international awards competition designed to recognize excellence in Video Productions, TV Commercials/News/Programs and New Media.

The mission of The Videographer Awards is to provide meaningful recognition to hard working, creative companies, individuals and clients in the video production industry. The distinctive Videographer clapboard award is widely recognized as a symbol of video achievement.

Winners are a who's who of television networks, commercial production houses, video production companies and producers, videographers and editors. The competition was expanded this year to include categories for New Media. For the first time, video integrated with the web will be recognized with its own categories.

Entries are judged this year by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), an organization that consists of several thousand marketing, communication and video professionals. AMCP oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards of excellence.

Judges look for individuals and companies whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. Judges evaluate the clarity, creativity and resourcefulness of each entry. In most categories, judges are also considering the interaction between pictures, graphics and words. Judges look at each entry from two perspectives. One is from the technical point of view of an experienced professional, and the other is from the viewpoint of the person who is the target of the material.
